If you missed the teacher training here are the points Brian used...

Brian did an AMAZING job training our leaders and inspired me to always be improving. God really spoke through him, Thanks Brian

Keys you to remember every time you speak:

1. Take it straight form the Word of God
2. Be Authentic: Let the student see who you really are faults and all
3. Have Fun: add humor to your message kids love to laugh
4. Have Energy: No one likes a boring speaker-be dynamic and have high energy
5. Have a Visual: Students remember by seeing or doing. Our students are from a very media driven generation. Use movie clips, songs, or power point.
6. Have a testimony: tell a story of what God did in your life or the life of someone else
7. Have a challenge: ask them to respond to the challenge throughout the week.

Brian also said it is very important to have an outline either on paper or in your mind with an introduction, a body and a conclusion. He also compared teaching a lesson to what an airplane has to do to to accomplish its goal. There is a take off, landing and conclusion. Don't be that guy/girl that has an amazing take off and cant land the plane by being unclear. Make sure the landing is clear and challenging.

Questions we need to ask ourselves as leaders of this ministry

1. When a student comes to your small group are they having a blast?
2. Is there a WOW factor with what you do in the large group lesson and small groups?
3. Are the students in your small group coming back?
4. Are you using the small group time wisely?
5. Are you encouraging your students?
6. Are you clearly communicating?
7. Are you allowing time for your students to give input and be heard?
8. Are you giving your students some ownership (very important)
9. Are students challenged to study scripture, bring friends and spend time with God?
10. Are you spiritually getting feed?

Hmmm I read these and had a tough time with some of them so now is a great time to refocus!!!!

John Doran and Partick Guinn's Small Group Idea...

I am very excited about what John and Partick are doing in their small group. They have some competitiveness building with their students. they made a football feild out of poster board and are using helmets with each of there students names on it to see who can make a touchdown first. Here is how it works, when they bring there bible, do their memory verses or answer questions correct the helmet with thier name on it moves up the field. The first one that makes a touchdown wins the contest and the students are way excited.....AMAZING idea guys!!!
